Will an acoustic guitarist be suitable for my event?
If you are looking for something classy and original for your event then an acoustic guitarist & vocalist performing for you is ideal, and far more intimate than employing a full band. I am also an accomplished pianist and can perform some of my repertoire on the piano.

How can I hear you?
If you click on the 'video' tab on the navigation bar above you will be able to watch and listen to some of my recordings. There are also some audio samples within the repertoire list on the 'songs' page (song titles highlighted in bold are available for audition). Whilst I generally only perform at wedding receptions, I occasionally attend wedding fayres where I perform live. Please check the Facebook page for latest updates or contact me directly.

How do I know if you're available?
You can email me using rob@robyates.co.uk or by clicking on the 'contact' tab above and completing the enquiry form. Please make sure you provide details of the venue location and date of function when enquiring. I will respond as soon as possible, letting you know whether I'm free on your chosen date and detail the costs of the various packages for your wedding reception.

In what venues can you play?
I use a Bose L1 model 2 line array speaker system which is rated up to 500w and provides plenty of power for the type of music that I play (acoustic). With this system, I can cater for guest numbers ranging from 25 to 500. I can also set the system up outside during the summer months as and where required (weather permitting!).

What areas do you cover?
I cover all areas of the UK and can most commonly be found entertaining in London and the South-East. I am currently based in Middlesex and do not charge travel expenses for venues that are within 50 mile round-trip distance from my location. For venues outside this area, additional mileage is charged at a rate of 50p per mile. For single trip distances of over 200 miles, an additional fee of £80 is payable to cover accommodation costs.

How much set up time do you need?
Approximately 1 hour is required for me to set up and sound-check before the performance but this can be done earlier if requested though a small 'waiting fee' may apply.

Will you learn my favourite song for my event?
I am happy to learn one new song if it is not already part of my repertoire free of charge. A fee of £25 is charged for additional songs (2-3 maximum) to cover extra rehearsal time. Any of these additional songs requests are subject to suitability.

Will there be music played during set-breaks?
For performances that are longer than 1 hour I split the routine into two or three sets depending on the total duration of the performance. Between these sets I take a short break (approx 10 minutes). During these short breaks I use iTunes to ensure that non-stop music will be played during the breaks, including before the performance (and after, if you have booked me to perform during the first dance) free of charge. You can also choose to plan your own playlists via a CD player, iPod or Laptop which I am happy to manage for you.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
To confirm your booking and make your date unavailable to others, a £50 deposit is required. This can be paid either cheque or PayPal. Once you enquire, your wedding date is put into the system as an enquiry. Please note that at any one time I may have a number of enquiries underway for any given date and that your booking is only confirmed when I receive payment of the deposit.

Can I reserve a date in case it gets booked?
I can hold your date for up to 24 hours until I am in receipt of your deposit, after this period the date will be made available for booking elsewhere.

How much do you charge?
Details of packages and basic price guidelines can be found on the 'pricing' page. For an accurate price, please contact me with details of your event and I will get back to you immediately.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance Cover?
Yes. I am insured up to the value of £2 million per incident. A copy of my current certificate can be forwarded to your venue as and where required.
